Series of paintings from the 2008 solo exhibition @ the Curwen & New Academy Gallery.
  • In 2008 I started collecting older images of the places I explored on foot, searching for archive material to contrast and collide with the photographic and real sketches I was making from each scene. Often black and white, aged and out of context these images captured an atmosphere rather than documenting a place and time. It proved an interesting challenge to accept the influence of these images, whilst retaining the sense of colour and exploration of my previous studies.
