As I worked on a Civilian Logo for our app, I created an eagle that could not be used, but instead of scrapping it, I turned it into the shirt design below.
 

After drawing many different ideas for the Civilian Logo, this view of the eagle stuck out the most.

After coloring it in, I tried to make the image symmetrical except for the talons. Keeping the talons uneven gave it a better feeling of movement. The Marine Corps eagle had detailed feathers that I tried to attempt below.

This image was discarded and a different style was used for the Civilian Logo. I took this discarded image and started creating a shirt design instead. I wanted a shirt that inspired hope so by using the phrase, "I believe in the American dream" above the eagle's wings it displayed my idea perfectly.

It was suggested that the eagle carry a flag so I quickly added that feature and completed the design.
