The task here was to design a residence which is primarily meant to be the home of an ambassador or a diplomat with enough room to give place to banquets or meetings of smaller scale. The site is situated on a hilarious southern hillside just a glimpse away from Bratislava castle in the midst of one of the most prestigeous quarters of the Slovak capital. The main idea was to set the three functionally separate parts of the villa: the habitat of the ambassador`s family on the 2nd floor in contact with a large roof garden; a room for receptions and public activity on the ground floor plus luxury, sports and technical equipment in the basement.
The shaping of the roomy building involved dealings with local winds, shading and ensuring the sight of an open panorama from the southern side, which all was settled by creating cantilevered terraces and roof slabs. A large free space terrace with a swimming pool is situated just in front of the leisure rooms of the basement
