Converse All Star is a campaign designed to promote a competition by Converse happening on the 21st of June 2012 responding to the question: What sound moves a body ("Quel son fait bouger un corps"). Created as part of our course at the ECV in Paris, this is a project by Pauline Segret and Isabelle Mattern.
Focussing on the resonance a sound leaves on a body, object or surface, we divided it into four parts, each attributed to a colour: Creation, Passion, Body and Soul. Together these four colours/parts create the Whole, us.
The logo created plays around the Converse logo and the layering of 4 coloured and layered circles that make the star visible, evoque connectivity and look as caught in motion. A hand-drawn "signature" underlines the star to remind the unique and personal experience of the contest.
For the campaign launched on the 21st of June, day of "fête de la musique", flyers are printed on transparent acetate to accentuate the feeling of every one being able to be a star, magazine ads, banners to be hung on the fête de la musique, animated projections, an application, promotional objects such as t-shirts as well as a promotional CD packaging and limited edition magazine to inspire participants. Using the international aspect of the festivel, the language used is specific to its location, French in Paris, Spanish in Barcelona, English in London, German in Berlin, and Luxembourgish in Luxembourg.
