We were born separately to a vague chorus of non-committal grunts,
which were shortly replaced by the ceaseless commands of conformity
from those above us: parents, teachers, peers, politicians and religious
leaders all. We lived our formative years, on the periphery of one another's
perception, but each similarly strangled by our own intimate aversions.
Later still, as we lay, prostrate and asphyxiating on anger and delusion,
we finally met each other. We were beautiful and wild. We hit the first target
with a barrage of bricks; the second time we used fire; by the third time, we
were ravenous and we used our teeth. The next three years were
unfocused, but palpable, streaks of vengeance, stained with violence and sex,
smelling of the sweat of our victories.
And then. And then suddenly. O then out of nowhere, we stopped and stared up,
our faces daubed with fresh blushes of crimson. We can only make vague
suppositions about what happened and why. But we find ourselves looking
outside our own minds now, caught between the gnarled, impure shadows
of our sins and the dawning of a new, sudden and confusing enlightenment. ( Written by Foxy of AlienFox Designs)
