- Alibi pre-folded pocket squares is a rebranding and repackaging of an existing men’s fashion accessory to appeal to a new market. Minimizing costs, but not impact, was also a consideration.
Alibi pocket squares in identity plays upon the concept of an alibi itself, as in being remembered. Remembered for wearing an Alibi Pocket Square, that is. The squares are packaged and branded to reinforce each as an individual style as well as part of the Alibi pocket square line. The squares are presented in a suit coat pocket with a monogram identity for each individual style. Detailing includes stitching on the logos and buttoner hole as well as a functional pocket. The back of each package features a blurb to tie the square back to the Alibi line as well as some witticisms about the style of the particular square.
In order to keep costs down, the packages are a single die cut andprinted on one side. The same pattern is used for all variants; the graphics are altered for different styles. This allows for line expansion without any additional tooling costs.
Alibi pocket squares point of sale display reinforces the brand identity and the display can be used even when different styled squares areadded as the line is expanded. The display also features a QPR code that can take the consumer to the Alibi Website for product information, style guides, shopping, etc. However, the individual pocket squares packages will also fit standard wire display racks if the retailer is so inclined.
Aside from the actual pocket squares themselves, all elements and copy are products of the designer. Packages were printed on NewPage Blazer digital paper, the point of sale display is made from laminated foam core.
