Alexander Jesipow is a german photographer from Munich, currently studying photography at The Arts Universty College at Bournemouth, UK. Working with him on the collaborative project „It’s all about type“ was really great. So I offered him to developed his visual identity, which is waiting for approval when he graduates.
He was really fascinated by the sextant when he explained it to me. He told me the sextant is a striking symbol for the ongoing search what to do in this young stage of his life. It’s an instrument used to measure the angle between any two visible objects. Its primary use is to determine the angle between a celestial object and the horizon. The angle, and the time when it was measured, can be used to calculate a position line on a nautical or aeronautical chart. With a sextant it’s possible to precisely track, not only when and where, also in which direction the photograph was taken. This data will be printed on the
