From the first page, the reader takes off at a good pace into this mystery. The main character is a photographer. One of her jobs is a crime scene photographer. And there is a killer on the loose.

 

The challenge with this book cover design is to avoid mystery novel cliches, yet at the same time play off some of the stereotypes in order to present an engaging cover. Key elements include the main character (young, attractive female), tools of the trade (camera), killer (represented by sniper crosshairs) and a dark stormy night (complete with bokeh photo effect). Hopefully, the correct balance was struck between stock mystery elements and a new, fresh variation on a theme.
