An animated short

This is an animation I have created for my dissertation in my final year of study of Multimedia Technology and Design in Brunel University. I have always loved animation including 3D animations but never knew how it to make it, and so part of this project was also to create an opportunity where I learn how to create 3D graphics and animation.

The animationis created using a combination of 2D and 3D techniques. The primary theme for theproject was emotion and I decided to focus my research on the use of emotion inmedia, in order to understand how emotions are communicated through the mediumand used to increase the engagement of the audience. It was important tounderstand this process so that I could try and implement it myself. The designof the animation was difficult, as it had to be aesthetically pleasing whilstdemonstrate my particular illustration style and incorporate the overall themeof the project. I also produced the sound that accompanies the animation,recording sound effects and sourcing music where necessary.
