Afrikanistas is a series of sixteen characters through which a world is recreated.
A fictitious world in which disguise is combined with ritualistic elements such as masks, feathers and totems.
At the same time they merge in to a more contemporary aesthetic where bright colours and a black thick line create a new cultural identity where tribal rituals could be part of our everyday life.
The apparel worn by these figures are not only used as a disguise for special moments, but they are incorporated to the daily life and transform the rituals and symbols into regular practices and vice versa.
