Advanced Photoshop Magazine contacted us to illustrate the cover of issue #92. Their instructions were to use the word “Type” in a diagonal format using a very earthy, organic typography. Although Barton is known for his “retro-futuristic” style, he chose to take this opportunity to challenge himself, and demonstrate his artistic diversity. He decided to take the illustration in a direction completely unique to his past work. By playing up the organic elements of the piece, he aimed to give the impression of a photograph, rather than a 3D illustration.
