CHALLENGE
Communicate and convey the interactive and playful nature of the Milwaukee Art Museum's revolutionary feature exhibition, Act/React: Interactive Installation Art.
SOLUTION
In cosidering the inherent playful nature of the exhibition, we wanted all of the elements of the show to echo that sentiment. The exhibition entrace was transformed like never before, engaging the viewer from both sides of the glass. In designing the catalogue, we took a fairly unconventional approach to the organization of content, as shown in the 3-way binding. In response, the reader is instantly engaged with the book as an 'interactive' object.
SPECIFIC ROLE
I was involved in the concepting phase and execution of both the exhibition and book design. When thinking about the space we were in for the exhibition, I conceived of the idea of using the glass facade as an added element to the design as opposed to avoiding it, as had been done up until that point.
