ATL / LAX Wearable Sculptures
The following pieces are part of a my ATL / LAX series of sculture and jewelry. The ATL / LAX Series was inspired by the geological land formations observed on a cross country flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles.
The materials and methods are varaitions on most of my earlier metal work in that the pieces are constructed from fold formed and hand worked (hammered, scrathed, rolled) sheets of sterling silver. The fold formed elements were joined by hot connections (soldering) and cold connections (rivets) into hollow from miniature wearable scupltures. The colored elements which are new to this series are created through torch fired enameling. The finished form is then patinaed with liver of sulfer.
