The AIGA Jacksonville Always Summer Poster show is a yearly event created to bring designers together and get them working on personal work for the sheer fun of it. We were all asked to choose a song that reminded us of summer and illustrate a poster based off that song. At the show the songs would then be mixed together and played throughout the event.
I chose the song “Girl and the Sea” by the Presets because something about the song just puts me in a zen mood and makes me feel like I am at the beach. I created a purely type based poster because I was somewhat still coming into my style and wanted to push my boundaries and create a piece that would give off the song's feeling.
This piece was featured on Lettercult's 2012 Best of Lettering posts.
