Ahab Edições is a small independent publishing company based in Porto that we started working with in 2009. Their literary mission is to publish notable foreign language literature never before translated into Portuguese. In addition to designing the graphic identity, we created an editorial project for all the books – format, typographic treatment and layout, and production specifications. This project of course includes the cover designs which follows a guiding principle to constantly explore the rendering of the text – title and author – and to create individual interpretative designs for each title in which these elements form the basis of an textual illustration.
