Release Date: SS10-SS11General Info: During my time in Adidas Originals I was challenged to give facelift updates to some of their most iconic silhouettes. This would often entail construction, tooling, color, and material refreshments. In the way that Volkswagen modernize their classic VW Bug, Originals does the same to ensure that their products are relevant for today's consumer.
One of the ways we did this was to redesign the classics with a technical mentality. How could we improve these with todays capabilities of construction and materialization? In the time of their creation they were some of the most technologically advanced products, the Forum Mid especially. Taking these established silhouettes and making them ever more breathable, lighter, durable, comfortable, or generally functional built upon the legacy of the original.
