The abstract paintings  are concerned with structures and viewpoints, they have a solidity and an aerial aspect. Combining both maps and architectural plans, they hang together, but also lean, they hover borderline between strength and collapse. They are inspired by landscapes and buildings, by the earth and the environment, by scaffolds and sheds. I play them like games, Sudoku and Tetris, it's a process of organising and disrupting, a balance of form and colour. But there has to be a slight imbalance also.
