This was another of my mecha animals works! We work in all the mecha greyhounds race.
I did the concept design of the dogs, color schemes design, 3D models, Uvs work and textures.
Was really exciting to work in this project because the premise of a drag race with mecha dogs in salt lake was absolutely awesome.
Originally I work in three different concepts,one by each dog and team,but finally we use the same body with different head and color scheme for better production efficiency.
This was my first approach to the head design of the greyhound,a ciber style one.
This was other head sketch that looks fine,I like the idea of stitched leather in some parts.
This concept was done with the premise of doing something that looks in a Middle Ages look,something a bit steampunk maybe. You can see that this was one of the final heads that we use.
This concept was done thinking in the golden age of the american car design,and I thought that were cool if it looks like an old school muscle car. This was another of the final heads used too.
And here you have the winner,simply a scifi concept,it works and its cool.This was the body for the three greyhounds and we change the color scheme and the head.
One of my references and inspirations for this work was the sculptures by Yong Ho Ji,an awesome artist that creates art with used tires.I thought that kind of muscular, synthetic look would work great with this.
