Editorial project which seeks to complement and redefine the primary nature of the Lisbon's cultural diary (Agenda Cultural de Lisboa), defining a strategy and editorial structure considering the redesigning and amplification of the communication channels.
a Janela's culture lives in the thousand views of Lisbon's windows, in what its seen from the outside and from the inside. It lives in the walls and in the houses and in people who inhabit them. We cross with it in the street, we see it in the name of things, in the alleys, inside the corners, gardens and quiet places enclosed within it.
Lisbon's culture can be found in the new and in the old, in histories which are told, it lives in what is felt and in what is there but not even always seems to be. a Janela has as it's goal to let know about Lisbon's culture and not only the culture about Lisbon.
Each month a Janela shows a different window of the city, scrutinizing everything that can be found around her universe. Therefore the reader gets intimately related with the several places of the city from where he usually passes by, walks around and wanders daily. Such relation stands in the idea of culture as a wide knowledge of the city, transforming the city in an imaginary museum made by living objects in a constant performance, filled with their's stories and with other people's stories about them.
a Janela seeks to distinguish itself from the others Lisbon's cultural diaries and propaganda, not by the eradication of the monthly cultural offer of the city, but by theirs insertion in a context defined by the stories that with window has to be tell.
