After Dasha’s mom leaves for America, Dasha is left in the city with her busy grandmother and step-grandfather, she doesn’t quite trust. She is shuttled between different relatives’ homes. She misses her mom very much and to keep the sadness at bay grows closer with her two best friends – the three form a sort of family. The best kind of 12-year-old family with skipping school, eating too much ice cream, talking about books, boys and life. But just as Dasha is ready to fully embrace her new independence, her mom comes back and she must make a difficult decision.
