This project was geared atteaching us more about teams, collaboration andunderstanding design students’ working habits. From the beginning we set out to achieve oneobjective:

"...to gain a better understanding of howdesign students perform work activities, organize their work spaces, both personaland academic (studio space, for example),and execute projects based on their group’sdesign process."

With this in mind, our goal was to research thequestion, “how does a team of design studentsorganize a project.” Design 786 with Liz Sandersprovided us a framework to work in and gave usthe tools to put together an investigation basedon our question and objective.

After establishing these goals in a preliminarypresentation, our plan was to first prepare aworkbook including a brief questionnaire andtwo simple MakeTools and utilize The Ohio StateUniversity’s Department of Design students asour participants. From there we would interviewand observe a subsequent and smaller groupthat completed a workbook followed by aVelcro MakeTool session with a handful of thissubsequent group.
