Living at the time I designed this in a primarily Orthodox Jewish neighborhood near Yeshiva University on the upper-upper West Side in NYC, Joshua Halberstam’s novel of a young Hasidic Jew’s initiation into the world of the gentile resonated with me in my daily observations of people rectifying tradition and encroaching modernization. NYC invades and becomes a part of you in spite of your attempts to keep its encroaching influence at bay, which was just the solution I was looking for and illustrated. Read Less
