Gwen Rakotovao is a French/Malagasy Dancer and Model in New York.
In Paris Gwen was a member of Rick Odum's ensemble.
She then moved in New York where she studied at the Alvin Ailey American Dance center and danced for several choreographers.
After Graduation, she joined BodyStories/Teresa Fellion Dance in 2009 (Artistic Director Teresa Fellion) and soon became a soloist and Associate Artistic Director. In addition, Gwen has had the opportunity to work with H.T. Chen Dance Company, Regina Nejman, Whitney V. Hunter and Brian Carey Chung.
As an educator, Gwen has been invited for the past two years, to teach at the renowned Conservatory of Rouen, at the Juste Debout School and around the world in the French Caribbean islands, Madagascar and Paris. Gwen has taught Horton, Graham and others contemporary techniques. Her performed style and Class also include Jazz, hip hop and African influences.
In 2012 Gwen has been awarded a gold medal at the Biarritz International Dance Contest.

Since January 2011, Gwen is the Director of her own dance company. The Gwen Rakotovao Company has been performing in France, Madagascar and United States: Better Days, Fomba Malagasy, N.Y.L.U., Ferenz Gipsy in many venues Trianon, Dixon Place, QAS Festivals, PMT Dance Series, Webster Hall, White waves.
As a model She was Miss Madagascar and run for Miss Diaspora Models 2009. Since then she works with a lot of photographers and become one of the face of the website Neguswear.com.
Besides her modeling Gwen had appeared on American TV-shows, commercials and movies (Us Census, Kia Motors M.T.V. Movie Award, Damages, Law and Order, Something Borrowed…)
