I illustrated these specifically for The Collective's 'Drawn In' exhibition which had the subject of 'Naivety without Innocence' from 28 May - 9 June 2012.

The Puerile Pigeon race is a bit stupid or silly, rather honest, ambiguous, blunt, harsh and otherwise forward, but not at all wise or mature. Here Peggy and Patroclus, the heroes of the first Puerile Pigeon Proverb, have just made some eggs of their own and are discussing how to cook them. They don't realise that they've just mated, or that eating the eggs could be considered abortion. But why would a Puerile Pigeon think like that, considering all that they wanted was food - and they managed to get some without asking anyone else.

I exhibited the the main illustration and the words as A3 pieces, printed on 300g gloss paper. The two accompanying character pieces were A5 and were hung along side the two A3 pieces. Read Less
