A series of illustrations I did on scratch board based on Jonathan Swift's 1729-pamphlet "A Modest Proposal." For those who have not read it, it is a satirical essay about the aristocratic English's view of the Irish. The basic idea is that the English treated the Irish like subhumans or animals thus they should be slaughtered and consumed like animals. It is a gruesome thought but Swift brings a certain bit of humor to the idea. Read Less
