  • A LA CART is an application for and about street cuisine. A La Cart aims to promote small business and bring people together in search of tasty new experiences. Vendors reach out to new customers via profile pages and customers can seek them out at their own convenience. A La Cart can be used by people of all ages residing all over the country; however, urban areas do have a popular advantage.
  • Mood Board
  • The website offers users the ability to view deals in their area, find and search for vendors, order food, learn about the applications, and register as a consumer or vendor. The home page conveniently displays all of A La Cart's best features, as well as a banner advertisement for vendors. Here you will find a link to this week's featured A La Cart vendor, a live stream of latest Tweets, and an interactive map.
  • Home Page
  • The mobile application allows customers to search for vendors in their area by using the map page or the search page. The map uses GPS location to find which vendors are currently operating nearby. Points on the map are differentiated based whether or not you have added certain vendors to your "favorites" list. The search page is divided into recent, popular, and favorite vendors. Clicking on a vendor link using any of these methods takes you to their profile.
  • Deals in Your Area
  • Trucks in Your Area; Search by Recent / Popular / Favorites
  • Vendor Profile Page; includes Photos / Menu / Updates
  • Customers can scroll through menu items on the vendor's profile page. Clicking on a bar allows you to see more information about that item and brings up the "buy" button.
  • Mobile Checkout
  • You can process your order in the checkout page. The checkout page is divided into usual, current, and recent. Under current orders you can also adjust quantities or delete items. Once you have purchased your food with your credit card or PayPal information, you will receive your order confirmation number and a wait estimate in the case of higher demand. Under recent orders you can view your order history. The "usual" page offers a fast and personalized way to order your most often craved food.
  • Recent Orders; "My Usual"
  • Process and Ideas:
We started this project as part of an elective class for "Time, Motion, & Communication." The entire purpose of the class was to work in teams to concept and design a mobile application / user experience. Our process work includes brainstorming, user personas, attributes / features development, IA / wireframes, Design (lots of exploring there), and finally an animated walk through.
