Similar to the physical cement wall that separates the West Bank from Israel, the communication between Israelis and Palestinians is blockaded. Since language is the foundation of communication I chose to research the Hebrew and Arabic alphabets. Specifically I looked at how they relate to one another both phonetically and visually. I discovered that both languages are closely related and are even rooted in a common ancestor; Aramaic. The similarities between the languages is a sign of hope that maybe one day can help break both the physical and communication barriers open. My final piece was an audiovisual installation and book.
