A Christmas Carol Design Suite

  • A Christmas Carol
    An Original Design Suite
  • I was commissioned to develop a design suite for Bob Jones University's premiere and original musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. The project was comprehensive, including a theatrical poster, CD album, program, and advertising collateral.
  • The poster focuses on two sub-themes in the production: time and London. Thematic elements regarding the time concept include the logotype and corner embellishment which resemble the inner-workings of a timepiece. The three dongles on the logotype also represent the three ghosts in the production. The London skyline design is taken straight from the set so audiences can relate the familiar design cues. Distressed textures and cool hues evoke feelings of a ghastly eeriness.
  • I proposed to advertise the show beyond the BJU campus with a series of guerrilla teaser posters, each carrying a significant line from the production.
  • The album design continues the visual themes of time and london.
  • Interaction of layered line, type, and texture create an intricate design that resembles a clock assembly.
  • The user removes the disc like a gear in a timepiece revealing Scrooge's infamous exclamation.
  • CD booklet interior spread.
