- Package Design/Identity: Perox-it
This is a student ADDY winner as of Feb. 2011.
I had the opportunity to redesign the product of my choice based on function and appearance.
I worked to develop this solution through a process of searching through products and through testing for the ones that needed better functioning qualities.
Hydrogen Peroxide was chosen for the redesign because of its many uses that were unexplored. I started with a basic chemical screw-top bottle. By creating various caps and sizes of the bottles, the problem of function was solved. There is a mist bottle for cuts and scrapes, a squirt bottle to avoid overpouring, spray bottles for cleaning and fertilizers, and an eye-dropper for the mixing of the food grade Perox-it. There is also a toothpaste bottle to add to the many uses.
The concept for the color choices was to liven the common brown Hydrogen Peroxide bottles while keeping the well known quality of the brown bottle. The colors were specifically chosen for the uses based on relation to the need. Red for cuts, blue for a wash...
The name PEROX-IT was chosen to be recognizable and to act as a verb. Perox it!
