In The Woman in White, Anne was desired only for her money. The dress is filled with the label of money, given not by herself, but by one who wants her dead. The contrast between the words and the red dress lead the viewer to assume there is a greater story of mystery within the book.
I decided to add Oliver Twist to the mix because his search for identity relates to many who are looking back to their younger years. There is deep symbolism in the rope and his future, which many assumed was destined.
