Kulve Taroth Copic Tutorial
I start sketching until I have something that vaguely resembles my idea, once I have it I aim to get a finished lineart that's good enough on its own. Sometimes that means creating almost an entirely new piece, sometimes the sketch just needs a bit of refinement before being ready.
Here the lineart is completely finished and cleaned with PHOTOSHOP. In this particular case I'll print the processed pencil as it is on Bristol paper, in some works I prefer Inking with Copic Multiliners.
After an hour or so I just paint over the print directly with Copics, in my experience this is not risky at all unless your piece have some considerable blacks. Here you see me using partially the feather blending, in where each stroke is softer at the end leaving a dark to light gradation that's more easily blended with the next stroke.
After using a white gel pen for the highlights I further emphasize a few lines with Copic Multiliners, specially the face features.
Only thing left is to get a "stylized" shot for media and a scanned version for print, websites, etc.
