Flying pins 2048
The first thing I did when I know that I had flying pins was searching for the history behind the monument. pretty quickly I found out that the street that it is in is looked like bowling ally to the artist. The only thing missing where the pins and bowling ball.
To me there was something else missing. A retro old looking animation or picture on display. Because a lot of bowling ally's have this and to me this needed to have it feel like your looking at a bowling ally. the things that I made to still have it be iconic look is creating a logo on the projection part. And make all the pins yellow with red and have them flying just like the original one has pins that look like the fly.
During this project the original design change a lot with it first being just model. And then it becoming in intractable object for people to use. the design needed some changes for gameplay team to make it. so after finish it we found we need to scrap the idea and go back to it being a model. lucky I made everything ready and just needed to clone the pins so we had 10 pins.
for texturing I noticed that art style that we needed to use had similarities with my own 3D cartoon style. the only problem that faced was that I like using big textures to make the little detail more pop. Which was a bit hard with texture space rules. So having it close to my own style made that went texturing easier while still looking at the fire watch style. making the inside lighter and darker was something I was nervous about but in the end it did go well after some practice.
overall I'm very happy with end result and to be part of this project. This project help improving my UV mapping skill. and learned me new to give shape to a model that with drawn texture. I hope to do more projects like this in future.
