EGG CARTON IN BURNING MAN
Formalist Sculptor Ron Robertson-Swann OAM studied under Lyndon Dadswell at the National Art School, Sydney (1957-59) and Sir Anthony Caro OM and Phillip King CBE, at the St Martins School of Art, London, England (1962). Robertson-Swann is the Head of Sculpture at the National Art School and is the artistic adviser to the popular annual exhibition Sculpture by the Sea, of which his work is a recurrent fixture. He was a founding member of the Visual Arts Board of the Australia Council and has held solo exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane and at several regional galleries. His work has been included in group exhibitions including ‘Tracking the Field’ at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in 2009, ‘Federation, Australian Art Society 1901-2001’ at the National Gallery of Australia in 2001, and internationally in Denmark and Japan. Robertson-Swann has completed several significant public commissions at locations including the Queensland Cultural Centre, Brisbane and has won numerous awards including the Comalco Invitational Sculpture Award, the Bathurst Prize and the Alice Prize. His work is held by a number of public and private collections including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney; Australian National Gallery and Parliament House, Canberra, and internationally in England. The building can divided into three timelines
-First in the morning. Main hall will become a cafe with sits when. By remove the red walls (in plan below), take two walls to install on the track, so the space can be split four areas.
-Second is afternoon, it will change to a exhibition space with egg carton walls moved away. Because some of Ron's sculptures are huge, need a open plan space to place the artworks. In the same time, on the right side of exhibition hall is a smaller exhibition gallery, it will show some work and documentation from students .
-Third is evening and night, people can gather around, change space to a bar and a party space. Both cafe and bar are responding to one of ten principles in burning-gifting. Morning gifting is preparing breakfast in cafe, in night is provide chance to gather people together.

This is the egg carton curtain fragment. This fragment has some transparency, it can split space, and can also use as a door. In black rock city, in order to have good ventilation, open roof design is always better than full closed space in this case. Thus, this by using this curtain can help keep a certain privacy, and allow air movement. The use is like the image below.
