The purpose of this assignment is to design an exhibition poster that features one specific artifact from a country. I selected this colourful snuff bottle from ancient China that was featured at a snuff bottle exhibition at ROM.

In my draft, I came across an idea to incorporate traditional Chinese characters. With my knowledge in traditional fonts, I designed a simple logo on the left side of the poster that translates "Chinese culture".
However, upon a second consideration, I decided to go with the design below. I wanted the overall design to demonstrate sophistication in Chinese antique. Hence, I opted for a mirror reflection design with emphasis on individual lines and details.
Conclusion:
From studying the artifact to making a poster, I learned that aesthetics play a big role in poster design. More importantly, it is important that a poster communicates a correct message to the viewer. In this case, it is to showcase the antique, title the origin, and locate of the exhibition.
