Lions Clubs International is a global service organization with more than 1.4 million members working in diverse ways to serve and improve their communities. One of the challenges the organization confronts is hunger, which affects more than 820 million individuals. Through its hunger pilot grant program, Lions Clubs International offers grants in amounts ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 to help local, non-profit organizations such as food banks and school-based food programs provide vital services to alleviate food insecurity.

The hunger pilot grants are intended to finance infrastructure and equipment acquisition, as well as operational needs during the start-up period. Specifically, the grants might fund construction of food kitchens, furniture for dining rooms, or vehicles to transport food.
