Kunstencentrum BUDA // Branding & Identity

Arts centre BUDA is a workplace, a presentation platform and an arthouse cinema in Kortrijk, Belgium.

Every year BUDA welcomes up to 75 companies / 300 performing artists to work in one of the studio’s or theatre venues. An enthusiastic technical and artistic team of Buda employees support them in their creation.

The performances that are (partly) made at arts centre BUDA can be seen on many European stages, but also in Kortrijk. Therefore, arts centre BUDA organises three festivals a year. 

Arts centre BUDA is also an arthouse cinema with a daily programme of non-commercial quality films in 3 auditoriums.

For my final year of Graphic Design school, I rebranded the BUDA identity. The new branding had to be adventurous, playful, spontaneous, young and fun. Next to that the identity still had to convey trust, friendliness, accessibility and openness. 

Each branch of the arts centre received its own supporting color. Cinema is yellow, presentation is green and workplace is pink.
 
The eye inside the logo follows the shape of the BUDA-island where the BUDA arts centre is located and is also named after. Of course it is also a nod at visual arts and cinema.
