To transform the activity space (Day Room) at the ward, where residents engage in dining, leisure and other activities into an area that exudes a local thematic and nostalgic air for the residents to reminisce and engage in daily life in a homely environment that is familiar to them.

To promote social interaction as they engage with one another about their own past and share their stories with volunteers during activities. To create a homely environment which will also provide comfort and solace in a setting where they can enjoy their meals, watch TV, or just rest and relax.

Ageing gracefully and comfortably will be the key objective of this environmental modification, especially as more seniors are afflicted with dementia.
