DESIGN PROCESS
Secure Parking has a mature and corporate demographic where entirely animated explainer graphics
will not connect to the audience well. We felt film driven storytelling with subtle infographics overlay to emphasise particular product features was the answer.
With Extra Mile Pictures, we planned the short series of info videos, from script and storyboard. With the filmed footage, I designed and animated all the graphics integrated into the piece. The design of the graphics was subtle, lives in the real world space and visually assists understanding, functioning with
the voice over and film as a single solution. It was a balance of making the graphics informative and interesting, without getting stuck into the technical details.
EXECUTION
As a tech driven HUD/UI visual concept, I took design inspiration from similar graphics in movies,
but really kept it clean and simple, striking a balance between the tech look and visually functional.
All the graphics were made in After Effects, little square windows were made with each corner automatically generating a line between each other through expressions. Where possible, especially
in dolly or panning shots, I layered the graphics in 2.5D, giving it a sense of depth. All tracking work
was done in After Effects.
The result was a fun informative series of videos that engaged the target demographic of Secure Parking, illustrating all the features on offer by the company.
