VFX - Appletiser Project

As part of a module at university we were tasked with creating a VFX project from a brief that was given to us.
We were required to create an Appletiser VFX shot of a bottle in an apple orchard at sun down. This was to fit the moodboard and story board that was provided to us.

I was required to model an Appletiser bottle in Cinema 4D and animate it according to the story board with different camera shots.

I was then tasked with lighting the scene and adding shadows to fit the provided background. In After Effects I was tasked with composting the scene together with the Cinema 4D work and the background provided to match the brief that we were given.

Below is the mood-board that we was provided with as a guide for our scene

Below are some development screenshots of various parts of the bottle and scene all made from scratch.
A Final Note:

As I had tried to include as much detail as possible into the bottle, it resulted in very long render times. As well as this due to COVID-19 outbreak, the final version above was rendered on my computer and not the powerful university machines. As a result, different render settings such as global illumination and ambient occlusion were adjusted to produce a realistic render time. As well as that some of the details on the bottle such as the grooves on the lid (as seen in the screenshot above) were removed, to aid with the render time.

As a result, the VFX scene took 6 days to render and some small details that were affected by ambient occlusion and global illumination such as the lighting, shadows and reflection. However, a great deal was learnt about rendering as a result of research into this to provide a realistic render time.
