Garfield Park Conservatory | Brochure Design
Design Brief: The goal for this student project was to design a brochure for a place with activities near Moraine Valley Community College. We were tasked to create the structure of the brochure, write and edit all copy, and capture the photography for this design as well. I selected to create a brochure for Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago, IL.
Research & Brainstorm: My original concept sketch was strictly focused on text based on the amount of information that I wanted to include but quickly realized that this was not the best suited way to capture my audiences attention. The location is spectacular and I wanted to showcase that in the photos that I captured. My design was then focused on selecting the appropriate photos and re-writing the copy to be short and sweet. You will see this progression in the rough concept sketch compared to the final design.

Develop the Design: I wanted to incorporate a custom design element to this brochure. You will see the front panel is cut straight across so in the final design the Garfield Park Conservatory logo can be visible from the inside panel. A part of our responsibility for this project was to capture the photography we wished to use for our overall design. Planning, executing, and editing these photos was an important element to this project as they are going to attract our intended target audience to the location we are promoting.
