Content was produced for the 2013 RSA Student Design Awards Change Makers brief: use design to eliminate waste, over-production or excessive consumption. This magazine concept aims to reduce the environmental impact of the magazine industry.
The user creates their own personalised magazine by combining articles from several publications - this reduces the amount of paper used by removing irrelevant content and combining multiple issues into one format.

Content also forms part of a larger change in the attitudes towards print products, by making people think about the print content they consume and why they want to read it on paper. By allowing the user to choose relevant and interesting content, the publication is given a higher value and is less likely to be seen as a disposable commodity.

Each publication contains unique information about its content and production.
The contents page displays all content featured in each chosen edition and highlights the articles which have been printed. This serves as a visual cue for how much content has been used and how much paper has been saved.
Each magazine inside retains its original design and format - the size of the whole publication is determined by the largest width and height measurements of the chosen magazines.
The user is able to personalise the cover by choosing an image from the content - in this case this image from a review of the film Sightseers in Little White Lies.
The colour of the logo adapts to the chosen cover, with the comma taking a highlight colour from the image.
Adverts are still included, filling pages which would otherwise have been blank, but are tailored to the interests of the reader.
The back page summarises the content chosen and details the savings made in terms of money and paper compared with buying all the magazines individually.
