Here lies a series of ‘lost’ posters depicting some of the intangibles that people sometimes lose. They are inspired by idioms and sayings, such as like losing one’s temper dignity or mind.
The text in every poster (bad grammar and spelling inclusive) comes from listings posted on classified advertisement sites including Gumtree and Craigslist. Some are humourous, some strange and some downright disturbing. Lost explores delight through humour and wit.
The virtual classified listings have been reproduced physically in the forms of posters. These have then been installed in various public contexts. The accompanying photographs document people’s reactions to these interventions. Perhaps I can help some find humour by highlighting what others have lost.
