Criterion DVD's: Postmodern Philosophy & Design

How it Feels was a project in which I brought together concepts from my philosophy classes and history of design class. I was sitting in the studio thinking about postmodern design, (as one does) and I was wondering if there was some sort of connection between postmodern design and postmodern philosophy. Some of their proponents were contemporaries, and both of their rejections of the modern movements within their fields seem like a rejection of traditional logical concepts and established methodologies.

The deliverable for the project was a set of DVD's for a Criterion Collection series. I designed mine as if there were a four part documentary following artists and designers of these two postmodern movements. Beginning with expressionism and ending with the latest iterations of the artistic and philosophical movements, the series would investigate philosophers from Freud to Rorty and designers from Schiele to Victore.
