Designing for the Ordinary

The assignment: Students will obtain an ordinary household item, deconstruct the conceptual and functional aspects of the form and message behind the item, and then create a solution that is unique and relevant.
The concept behind designing a package for this whisk is to create an experience of picking up the box and then taking it home. This whisk is the experience of taking home baked goods from a bakery shop, but instead it is the tool to make the baked goods. The box reflects the packaging of bakery boxes because it creates a sense of viewing the whisk as a bakery item. On the side is a die cut of a cupcake with a frosted window peaking into the packaging and seeing the wooden handle of the whisk that creates a sense of mystery. The sense of mystery goes back to the branding of the whisk, which is "What is your guilty pleasure?" meaning when baking sweet goods, many people view that as a guilty pleasure. This whisk is handcrafted by me.
