The Jesus Saga
A collection of minimalist posters designed to portray various parts of Jesus's life.
Originally, this was going to be three posters based on the three primary colors. The colors were chosen to fit the mood of each scene.
Eventually, though, I decided that it would be better to include secondary colors as well, in order to fit two other key elements of His life. I wanted to do a third one for the color green, but could not come up with a way to fit that into the color theme. This because, given the order of events and the color's location on the spectrum, the green poster would have to be an Old Testament appearance or his dominion over the earth in Revelation. While both of these might make for cool posters, I thought it would mess with the flow of my set if I went for either one of these.
All posters began on paper. The idea was to capture an image style that was minimalist and hard-edged, similar to the 2D art of The Incredibles or Samurai Jack. Not all of the elements I drew were incorporated and some were slightly altered. But my rough sketches provided the framework for the overall layout.
