Holy Island Visitor Centre
Undergraduate Project, Northumbria University 2004
The project consists of two separate sections - analysis and conception.  The analysis consisted of me spending a day on the island taking photographs and absorbing the atmosphere.  To show this, I painted four A4 oil paintings depicting the changing light and mood from morning to evening.  I also created a A1 abstract painted based on an aerial photo.

The conception of the building was derived from the land sculptures of Richard Serra and Donald Judd.

Lightweight pavilions house the hostel and visitor centre.  These pavilions are hung on a concrete ribbon that extends from the wagon track on the island.

This project formed part of my Part 1 Architecture Qualification.
