Local Refillery is a new planet-friendly grocer located in downtown Courtenay that offers a convenient plastic-free, zero waste ‘weigh and pay’ shopping experience - allowing you to stock and re-stock guilt-free. Owner Ginette Matthews reached out to me for this start-up endeavour after learning my background in sustainability and design practices. Together we created a brand that is meaningful, deliberate and will pave the way for future sustainable brands. My goal with the design was to keep it minimal (no surprise there!) and let the brand ethos do the work without adding chaos, distraction or fluff to the design. It’s clean, concise and intentional - just as it should be, and leaves room for expansion and national growth.
