Kher, in Romany language, means home.
Home that is represented through the objects that are left.
Abandoned by those who owned them, in a place that was defined by them, even if for a short time, as home.
"Kher" then narrates the story of a community, starting from the objects from which they had to separate themselves after the evictions or due to the movement of this nomadic society.
These images are the portrait of people, of stories that are not revealed but that we can still imagine through the shots.
The seriality of the project leaves space for a possible infinite accumulation of objects and leads us to reflect on the story, on each person who came into contact with the object, on the motivations that forced a person to abandon it, to leave a trace of themselves in that place.
Casa che viene rappresentata attraverso gli oggetti lasciati.
Abbandonati da chi li possedeva, in un luogo che è stato da loro definito, anche se per un breve periodo, come casa.
“Kher” racconta quindi la storia della comunità rom partendo dagli oggetti da cui si sono separati in seguito agli sgomberi o successivamente allo spostamento di questa società nomade.
Queste immagini sono il ritratto di persone, di storie che non si palesano ma che riusciamo comunque ad immaginare attraverso gli scatti.
La serialità del progetto lascia spazio ad un possibile accumulo infinito di oggetti e ci porta a riflettere sulla storia, su ogni persona che vi è entrata in contatto, sulle motivazioni che ha spinto quella persona a doverlo abbandonare, a lasciare una traccia di sé in quel luogo.
