This body covering was made with trash, plastic water bottles, plastic bags, and plastic straws found outside around campus. I was inspired by water pollution and the harm it does to our oceans. I wanted to create something relating to this issue in hopes to raise more awareness around my campus on this pressing issue. Besides the representation of trash I used iridescent trim and recycled tissue paper to create a texture that represents oil spills, and incorporated netting to represent not only water pollution but the harm netting left in the ocean can do to animals.
