THE AMAN to THE LODHI, New Delhi
A journey in Design as one of the most prestigious properties of Delhi rebrands itself . The design exploration travelled from creating a complete facelift in terms of changes in color schemes, furniture and wall treatments on existing envelopes.
LOBBY
The dark paneled lobby gave way to a fresh light design with beiges, creams and bursts of oranges and some blacks. Striped grid modern carpets offset the contemporary classic lined furniture which complement the stone walls. The trademark red glass chandelier in the staircase forms a visual focus from all avenues with well know n works of art dotting the walls.
BAR & RESTURANT
A informal more open plan allowing the space to flow between the two was redesigned using color schemes from the lobbies. Complete changes in furniture in more new age design shapes were chosen. Fabric stories from the mature leathers, pony skin accentuated by Persian carpets , mirror walls and orange and green fabrics in the restaurant were taken to create a more fresh look.
ROOM& SUITES
The overall rooms and suites which were in dark browns and white were converted to a more resort like feel using fresh greens/lime and sky blue completed by the trademark Haathi (elephant)
logo seen as embroidered and sculptural accents in the room.
LIGHTING
the entire architectural language of the hotel was rediscovered in lighting. In using the old and adding to create the new, the entire hotel illumination was redesigned to create the New Lodhi.
